A ground level space in one of the residential buildings in the Barbican has been re-modelled by Mackay & Partners to create a bold and highly distinctive four-bedroom family home. The design has preserved the existing structure, the Barbican’s raw brick and its trademark concrete, and made minimal interventions to great effect. The new stair with its integrated security and steel water feature forms a suitably imposing new entrance to the home.
