At Farmleigh Grove developer Octagon briefed Hill
House Interiors to highlight the top-quality specification
of the design, its natural elements, and to present a
ready-to-wear home that combined luxury and
glamour with comfort and practicality. The designer
also had to take on board the fact that the home is
both for family living and grand entertaining, and so
took contrast as its guiding concept for the project.
In the entrance hall there is a classical porcelain stone
tiled floor, and a limestone staircase with an artisancrafted
metal and walnut balustrade. A mirrored art
deco style console table is positioned along a wall
facing a black and white canvas of Greta Garbo.
The drawing room contains a bespoke panelled wall
in dark oak incorporating a cocktail bar. Swivel club
chairs, mirrored table and baby grand piano complete
the look. The fireplace sits against a wall of handcrafted
metallic polished plaster panels.
Taking pride of place in the dining room is a 7 ft long
mirror-framed wine rack, recessed and uplit for added impact. The media room has a studded L-shaped
seating unit and pleated wallpaper. Silver oak bespoke
cabinetry conceals the hi-fi and communications
equipment. The lacquered walnut kitchen has creamy
resin marble work surfaces and red curtains,
cushions and upholstery.
At first floor level there are four double bedrooms, all
fitted with runs of built-in wardrobes. The master
bedroom has a Cavalli bed and a plasma television
recessed and protected by suede panels. On the second floor there is a penthouse suite, arranged as a
spa retreat with pastel leather massage bed, a studio
bedroom, an informal living/study area on the landing,
and a shower room. |
