At 100 metres high, No 1 Gunwharf Quays is the
tallest residential building on the UK's south coast,
and a fitting finale to a decade-long project that has
regenerated 33 acres of redundant waterfront land in
Portsmouth. The building, designed by Broadway
Malyan, sits alongside the Spinnaker Tower, another
symbol of the area's transformation.
Berkeley Homes (Southern) has brought the massive
Gunwharf Quays regeneration to a close in style. The
residential tower is 29 storeys high and its elliptical
form is clad in glazed curtain walling that
encompasses the main living areas of each of the
141 studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments.
As a result, homes have panoramic views over the
Solent, the harbour and the city.
Apartments have open plan living spaces, and more
than 60% have a balcony or terrace. Details include
solid wood recessed front doors, perimeter lighting,
and full-height internal doors. Kitchens are by Linea
Quattro.
The apartments also have secure underground
parking and a concierge system. |
