Bespoke Luxury
Luxurious family living is the theme for the showhome interior at developer Octagon’s six-home scheme at Selborne Place. Hill House Interiors’ design includes bespoke furniture and lighting, a made to measure kitchen, built in cabinetry, hand-finished wallpaper and specially commissioned artworks. On the ground floor, the entrance hall features a wall of hand painted and embroidered metallic wallpaper and a cream porcelain stone floor. The kitchen has sleek and glossy dark walnut units and cream composite stone worksurfaces. A breakfast bar divides the kitchen from the dining area where a silk and metallic glass chandelier is suspended over an Italian leather round dining table with mocha-leather covered chairs. The living area features two large aquariums, set within a specially commissioned tinted mirror wall. The twin tanks sit either side of a mirrored plasma television. Also on the ground floor is a TV den with a bronze polish-plaster effect wall covering and a black faux croc leather chest. The guest cloakroom is finished in deep magenta. The showhome has five bedrooms and four bathrooms at first and second floor levels. The master suite is dominated by a full height headboard, stretching the full width of the room. All the bathroom walls and floors are finished in either porcelain stone, marble or metallic mosaics and include cleverly concealed storage. At second floor level there is a study, fitted out in a masculine style with pinstriped wallpaper and plenty of storage. Across the landing a room has been styled and furnished as a massage and wellbeing room. A further bedroom has been designed as a child’s studio with a zone for play and a zone for sleep. The room has been given an exuberant injection of colour and incorporates a specially designed pull-out sleep-over bed. The showhome scheme attracted a record number of viewings, and within eight weeks of opening, four of the six available properties were sold.
