In spite of severe planning and access constraints, architect Studio Bednarski has realised the clients’ dream to have a garden pavilion in this conservative environment of west London. As the architect says, “this project demonstrates the effectiveness of building lower on constrained urban sites and is in line with the current UK government’s view that basements can make an important contribution to modern housing policy”.
