Developed at the BRE Innovation Park to attain near zero carbon at code level five, Sigma Home is an experiment in low or zero-carbon housebuilding. Constructed using closed panel timber frame, Sigma Home has micro-wind, photovoltaic and solar thermal technology to provide renewable energy and is fitted with a whole house heat recovery and ventilation system. The house can be built in ten weeks, thanks to its timber frame construction and ready-made bathroom pods. |
